SOS 2014

Here we go again!  Summer of Service, SOS 2014.  Good times and good service!

Week #1: EB Rains Park where we passed out otter pops to all the park goers.
Week #2: Westminster City Park clean up.  Grab those garbage bags and collect trash!

Week #3: The Abeytas! We donated items to the Abeyta's who have made their basement into a thrift shop for anyone who needs anything. We donated, sorted, hung up, put away and even took shoes home to wash so that others can enjoy some great things.

Week #4: King Soopers food drive and donation of 203 pounds of food to Broomfield's FISH food pantry.  We donated and then shelved all the things we brought it.  We spent one hour at King Soopers asking others to donate items.  It was fabulous!

Week #5: We gathered all of our saved pop tops and donated them to Denver's Ronald McDonald House.  We did collect over a pound, which the kids were proud of! We also made posters for the Ronald McDonald House and flowers for the nursing home residents we would sing to the next week.

Week #6: We sang our hearts out to some wonderful nursing home residents.  We also gave them the flowers we'd made out of tissue paper.

Week #7: We donated items to "Growing Home" in Westminster.  We also got a wonderful tour.  There are so many opportunities to serve at this location.  They help so many struggling families.  It was a great way to end our third annual summer of service.

I'm so grateful to those families who participated this summer.  The Nunnally's, Dorsett's, Cottrell's, Thomas's, Lloyd's, Cone's, Fillerup's, Hosfelts, Wilcox's, Knabb's, & Ginny Bedwell. Thank you for helping me teach my children to value service.  I am pretty sure your kids have learned something about service as well.  What an amazing Summer of Service.  Thank you friends, and my children for having a willing heart and willing hand to help the world, one project at a time!
