Stuff to remember...

So, it's great when I finally take the time to download pictures off of my phone because I have a chance to look at them again and remember!  Most of the time I like to do that.  Sometimes I makes me sad like when I'm reminded that my children are growing up or that my mom's really gone.  Other than that, I love having a memory from a photograph!  So, here are some photos that brought back a good memory today with their story attached!

My sad moments, which are necessary right?!  On my way to and from my Uncle Neil's funeral, I was reading the best book; Lighten Up by Chieko Okasaki.  It was life altering for both Travis and I.  But, this quote really stood out to me.  It stood out so much that I had to text it to my sweet Owen family so that they would always remember that even in the worst of times, the spirit is always with us and can provide us comfort and guidance.  Such a blessing to have that knowledge.

And speaking of Neil, here's a photo at my cousin's husband posted of the Owen farm.  A place that I grew up loving!  I couldn't wait for the next visit with my wonderful cousins and aunt and uncle.  It is a special picture and a special place.  Wonderful memories were made on this farm.

Heavenly Father sent me this Sunset a few nights ago.  It was amazing.  I was by myself and I couldn't help but start to cry as I felt the love of my father in Heaven as well as the love of my sweet mom and uncle Neil who have passed on.  It was a blessing.  I'll always remember it.

On a lighter note, Kedzie and Ethan thought they were soooo funny a few weeks ago when they dressed up in each others clothing!  Ethan doesn't make the prettiest girl, that's all I have to say!  They did make us all laugh, a lot however!  Grateful for laughter.

Now that my friend Erin and I have three boys at home during the day while all the girls are at school, life has changed a bit!  We go to the gym and on an occasional Tuesday, we have the time to stop in for lunch at Which Wich...well, the boys won't let us sit with them!  They are so big and independent.  It just makes us laugh.

Alex burned the top of his right hand pretty badly when he reached for the hot stove about a month ago.  What a trooper!  He saved his hand because he would NOT take it out of the cold water.  He fell asleep with his hand in water and slept until 2am when I found him soaked.  But, his hand has healed, leaving a lovely pink scar, but nothing gross and ugly.  Sweet, good boy!

Every time I pick Kedzie up from Tap or Acro, I asked how class went and her response is always "awesome!"  I'm grateful for a wonderful dance school and encouraging dance teachers who make it such a great experience for her.

Now here's my funny Mr. Ethan.  Just be grateful that I took this picture when he had his under ware on!  That's pretty much all I have to say!

Mr. Alex all ready to go play in the snow!  Scooby, Elmo and McQueen style!

Someone posted this on Facebook and I couldn't stop laughing!  That's all.

Go Aggies!  Craig from USU Alumni came and took our family out to dinner a few weeks ago!  He also announced a new Aggie Rep program which I signed up for immediately!  All you have to do as an alumni is promote Utah State and if you hold a party of Aggie alum or prospects, they'll over night Aggie ice cream!  Couldn't pass that one up, now could I?!  Craig wanted to see a picture of my lovely laundry room...done!  He sent me a vinyl Aggie A to make it complete.  Go Aggies!

Finally, Ethan participated in an after school program the last six weeks and learned some Karate!  At the final class and "graduation" he broke a board in half!  He was so proud.  We were too.  It was a great activity for him to participate in.  He can't wait until next year!

Those are some moments in time capture through digital pixels that I wanted to savor and to share.  I hope you enjoyed them.  Look forward to our halloween report...it will soon follow.  Love, EM
