Kedzie did it! She set her mind to hatching a duckling and she did it. She got her egg from the farm, bought a used duck house and food from our friends the Brinkers, bought a incubator and kept that egg warm for 28 days. Lucky was born on September 1st and did such an amazing job hatching. She brings such joy into our house. Its hilarious, but she makes us so happy. Even with all the random pooping! We are hoping she's a girl so she can go to the farm, but if she's a boy, Kedzie will get another boy or hatch another egg so he can have a friend. Currently, we are assuming her gender. It's amazing how quickening she is growing. In 19 days, she has doubled and her beak has gone from pink and black to all black and she has a little personality. She's kinda clueless, doesn't really mind Wiley unless they are face to face, then she pecks and she is loving to all of her family members. She sleeps in the basement and hangs out with Kedzie or one of us throughout most of the day. She cries so loudly when she is all alone in her crate. We love having Lucky!
