Alex turned 11 during Covid-19 and it was a lot of pressure to not be boring. I felt that it was an awesome day, one he won't soon forget. He wanted to be with his six best friends and we told him only one so he wouldn't be too disappointed. But, it was one at a time and he saw them all. Brennar, Dylan, Matthew, Trenton, Braylon and Wyatt. We ate yummy food and Travis took the day off so it was pretty special as just Alex, Travis and I drove around to various places to celebrate. He's a pretty lucky kid to have so many people love him. The best part was having soccer training in his back yard with his friends! Here are the notes and clues we gave him each hour of the day!
Today you’re 11 and we want to say “we wish you a very happy, happy Covid-19/11th birthday!” We have thought and we’ve thought how to celebrate you. We’ve come up with a plan that we hope you’ll love too. A scavenger hunt is all that you need in order for this special day to succeed. You’ll receive 11 clues for 11 hour of this day...now be off, be off and good luck along the way.
1. Every day, you wake up hungry. You know what you’re eating, but it’ll still be yummy.
2. Now, you can’t complain because it was your plan; sit on the couch and let the show begin.
3. He’s one of the best, he wears glasses and green. Head over to his house so you can be seen.
4. This dude has known you since the day you were born, I told you just one friend, but don’t be forlorn. It was all a trick, now go have some fun, with your buddy that loves basketball, hurry, go, run!
5. It’s time to fill that belly of yours, head to that place for your main course.
6. A special drink for the birthday boy, if you take everyone, there will be much joy.
7. Remember when we used to go to church? Your teacher is so cool and doesn’t want to leave you in a lurch.
8. Here’s friend number 3, he likes to hit balls, but please don’t go running with him in the halls.
9. It’s time for some family fun, go to the place where you like to play and run. Watch out, be prepared for some fun, we won’t end til all balloons are done.
10. This is the best secret we’ve kept. Open the door and get ready to play, your buddies are here to train for soccer today!
11. It’s time for dinner, let’s go get some food. Your choice, cuz you’re such a cool dude. (And we watched a movie outside to end the day!)
Oh Alex, we love you so. You are the perfect book end for our crazy crew. Without you, we wouldn't be as crazy! lol. You are smart, and friendly, talented and athletic. You are a smuggler and passionate about things. You get great grades and make wise choices in friends. Your testimony of Jesus Christ is growing and your smile melts my heart. We love you. Happy 11th birthday buddy.
