We had six days off from school and needed somewhere to go, so we headed to Orange County and San Diego for a few days. It was perfection with a few hiccups that aren't worthy of mention.
Day 1: We flew in and hit Huntington Beach. It was awesome for everyone. The sun was warm and the water was cold. The sand was fun to play in and everyone could be as loud or as quiet as they wanted to be. It was amazing.
Day 2: Disneyland! The guy in the line we went through actually let us go in an hour early so we were there from 9-9. We met up with the lovely Dorsett's who made the day even more special as we had friends to enjoy the experience with. We rode everything we wanted to, got pictures with Mickey and Minnie and seriously had a great day.
Day 3: As the rain began to poor we headed south to San Diego. We stopped at La Joya where Kedzie recognized places from watching Sea World Rescue shows. It was beautiful and fun to see all the sea lions. We went wandering through Old Town San Diego and took a tour of the Mormon Battalion visitors center. We then found our hotel where the kids could do some swimming.
Day 4: We went to the Zoo and had a great day. Such a huge, beautiful place. We all had fun. Afterward we went to a state park and wandered around to see the ocean and the crazy waves break on the rocks. It was a beautiful place to be.
Day 5: we drove to the airport with a stop for donuts and we came home.
It's always so nice to escape with just the family and experience adventures and makes memories together. I'm grateful Travis works so hard so we have the finances to travel. Grateful for these fun California memories!
