Kedzie is twelve! Are you kidding me?! It blows my mind. This year she actually got to have her party on her birthday. She was so excited to have an entire day filled; all about her.
She invited around 8 friends to come over for a Cake Boss party. It was great. We made a lot of small cakes and a great deal of frosting and the girls decorated and talked for over an hour. It was a fun process to watch. They did great. Kedzie also got a call from her friend Lucy in Australia. A highlight of the day.
Kedzie has had an amazing year. Keeping old friends and making new friends. Its a lot of work, but she is doing a great job of making it all work.
The day after Kedzie's birthday, Travis and I took her to do baptisms for the dead at the Ft. Collins Temple. What an amazing experience. I'd been looking forward to that morning with her in the temple for years and it was just as perfect as I had hoped. She was so excited and did family names in addition to some friends names. I was touched and felt the Holy Ghost in addition to the love of my mom. It was a precious, memorable experience. So proud of Kedzie's worthiness and willingness to go to the Temple.
Here are the newest beehives in our ward! Made, Emerson, Lindie, Kedzie and Cali. The four with roses were recognized at New Beginnings because they are coming into Young Women this year. When Kedzie was recognized by the Bishop on her first Sunday her smile was HUGE! She is so excited to be growing up and experiencing all the new, wonderful things that YW has in store for her. It makes me so proud to be her mom.
And now she gets to play Young Women Basketball! She's learned some defense and without her, the team would forfeit each week. She was a great team player and got her hand on the ball a time or two. Again, proud of her willingness to stretch and grow.
Kedzie is loving middle school, all but the math part. She is learning about boys and how crazy girls can be. She is growing up spiritually as she begins Young Women. She still loves horses in her very core and is a great support to her brothers and all their sports. She loves dance and is getting better and better. She's excited to swim again this summer. She's a wonderful friend and a wonderful daughter. I'm so grateful that I was seen worthy to be her mom. She has great things to do in this life. So proud of her and her internal strength. She doesn't quit, unless she has to hang up her clothes. Love you sweet Kedzie. Reach for stars!
