Random summer

Oh summer!  I plan so much for you and you turn out great.  Then, I don't have time to post pictures or stories, so the summer gets posted when I have some free time!  So, here's summer up to now...all the little things that I want to remember.

Ethan played in his first soccer tournament the end of May with his awesome team.  They didn't win, but it was a great first experience for them all.

Ethan is also our new lawn mower and plans to make a business with it in the future! Now, he just needs to get enough muscles to start the mower and empty the bag, or he'll have to take a parent with him to his future work!

This is a game Alex made up called "101 steamboat."  Don't ask, I don't have any answers.  I just know that it has made Alex and Triston very happy to play on my bed with their animals.

Kedzie had no broken bones this year and couldn't participate in her dance recital the end of May.  She was great.  She smiled perfectly and worked so hard on her routines.  She did tap and jazz and had a great deal of fun.  I'm proud of the work she's put into dance this year.

We are grateful for friends who come to support our little family.  The Dorsetts, Ava Simms and Lindsey Marx.
A friend of ours is making cakes for kids that are in treatment at Denver Children's Home.  We had the opportunity to make cakes for two of the kids there and deliver them. We also got to see them, eat lunch with the kids and see how happy they were for some birthday love and attention.

Kedzie has "graduated" to an adult bike.  It was scary for her at first, but after we practiced, she did great.  The boys went camping for a father/sons outing and we had a girls night and morning.  We watched girls just want to have fun, man from snowy river and took a ride on our cruisers.  It was so much fun to just be alone with her and do things we both love.

I love going to Rapids Games.  My kids enjoy them too.  Mostly for the food, but they enjoy the game too.  Go Soccer!

The Ft. Collins Temple is cruising right along.  It's been so neat to see it go up.  We are excited about it.  We had to stop for a quick pic on the way home from Utah.

Took the boys and Matthew to the Butterfly Pavilion. They loved the butterflies and then we got to hunt crawdads.  I had some happy, happy boys.

On the way to scout camp, my car hit a milestone.  Needed to be recorded.  Right?!

Ethan attended his first cub scout camp! Four evenings from 3-8 with his friends doing boy stuff.  I was lucky and only had to go one evening.  The boys had a great time.

Ethan and Bergen Sims and Berg's birthday party.  Happy boys.

I took my kids and the Hosfelt kids to the History Colorado Museum.  So much fun.  I simply wish I would have taken a book!  I sat in a swing while the kids played on "the farm" for over an hour.  Collecting chickens, buying food, cleaning the house, driving the car...over and over and over again.  We really had a great afternoon. And, the kids got to pretend to be the Broncos barrel man!

I went to girls camp for a day to talk on individual worth.  Because it's a two hour drive, I had to farm out my kids!  I'm so blessed to have good friends.  Mitzi took them in the morning and took them to swim lessons.  Then, she dropped them off at various houses.  Triston went to the Cottrell's, Alex and Kedzie went to the Holland's and Ethan went to the bay with the Dorsett's.  They had a great day and I had a great experience at girls camp.

We have been swimming a lot.  We took the Hosfelt's to the pool when their mom had her new baby.  We also got a tiny pool for our backyard that the kids have enjoyed. We've been to lifetime, signal creek, the haven, and park village.  Lots of wet days!

Kedzie had an activity days activity at the Carlson Lake that we crashed.  The kids had a great time tubing, boating, kayaking and swimming.  My kids are so lucky!

The Nunnally's have moved and are building a house in Brighton. We had a "farewell" bbq and fire pit...play party one night to enjoy their backyard for the last time.  Good thing they aren't moving far.

The 4th of July was nice.  We went swimming, the pool was pretty empty, and then we took the kids to see "Kurios" by Cirque du Soleil.  We all LOVED it.  It was so worth it; seeing the amazing skills some people have.  Kedzie painted everyone's faces and we did have a "parade" with the Krause's and headed to fireworks at the fairground.  It was a great day.  I'm so grateful to be an American.

"My kids" Jackson and Kai included.  We went to the skate park and got rained out, so came home to play while Betsy packed up her house.  These kids are great friends.

Ethan spent one week at goalie camp and loved every minute.  He was so lucky.  It was cool and cloudy from 1-2:30 every day. He lucked out and he learned some great skills that a goalie needs.

Triston lost a front tooth and is so cute!

Tosha came to town for a visit, so Tarra, Jen and I got together with her for an afternoon of play.  The kids played, we chatted.  It was great to see her.  She needs to move back to CO.

Triston spent a week at basketball camp and had a great deal of fun and learned some new tricks.

Like I said, we've done a lot of swimming!

I went to dinner with my sweet friends, Jen, Erin and Heidi.  I worked with them 10 years ago at DHS.  We talked about their work, our lives and laughed a lot.  They are amazing.

And for a quick wrap up, Travis was called to be the 1st Counselor in a new bishopric with Mark Conover as Bishop and Cory Thornton as 2nd Counselor.  We are so blessed to have a dad/husband that honors his priesthood and has a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ.  He's awesome.

I have more pictures and more stories, but this will be great for now.  Summer fun officially ends in three weeks.  I can't believe how quickly it has gone.  School starts soon.  I'm so grateful for the opportunities our family has to play and learn and grown throughout the summer.  I'm grateful that my kids are movers and shakers like I am.  We are a lot happier out doing things.  Summer has been full and great.  We're truly blessed.
