Catch up!

Must catch up on a few, random things! Kedzie said good bye to her black cast and no weight on her leg, two weeks ago, and is now 30% weigh bearing with a pink and green cast and mostly on her crutches.  I still send her to school in the chair just for long distances and recess, but she pretty much gets around on her crutches.  It's amazing.  One more week and it's possibly she'll be cast-less.

Alex was featured as a "swimmer" in the summer Thornton Activity Guide.  It's fun to see your child in print!

Twin Luigi's! The ever entertaining besties...Matthew Luigi and Alex Luigi!

The new cast means full on baths! She got in the first time and said
"AH, this feels good!" I'm sure it did.

Our latest trip to Cabela's caused quite a bit of laughter with my friends Travis, Jill and Betsy.  As we texted things to purchase or not purchase.  It was hilarious and this is just so that I can remember that I was funny once! We left with reusable red solo cups and we simply can't let it go now. Red solo cups cause us to laugh and be crazy!

Spring means caterpillars and butterflies at our house. Our current animal count:
5 caterpillars/butterflies
4 children (animals)
3 fish
2 cats
1 hamster

Introducing Ice Cream.  Kedzie bought her and is now in debt to us.  A good lesson to learn at age 9.  She had the money for the hamster, just not the stuff that goes with it.  So, she owes us for a few months!  We've loved playing with her and the cats love chasing her in her ball! Good times.

The weather's been beautiful.  We love spring. We had a day off of school and headed to the zoo.  Everyone was thrilled and intrigued by all the animals.  It's like they've never been there before!
It was a great day.

Ethan finally lost his first tooth! And it was a top tooth at that. Obviously it was hanging, so I snapped the shot of "before the pull" and "after the pull." Amazing what seconds do to your mind!

He was so excited.
He asked me that day if I was the tooth fairy and I reluctantly said yes.  He then told Kedzie.  They simply both laughed about it.  Interesting reaction.  However, he asked if he could keep his tooth and I said that he too would have to write a letter to the tooth fairy with the request.  So, he did and the tooth fairy left his tooth and a nice golden dollar coin.  He was thrilled and continues to believe in the magic.  It's great.

This soccer season is amazing for my boys.  Although I don't have a pic of Mr. T for legal reasons, he has made the greatest improvement over last season.  In fact on Saturday, he scored five goals while Alex scored one.  He was on fire.  He's committed and he's focused.  He's all over that ball.  It's amazing to watch.  Ethan has also made great progress.  His team is amazing.  They are passing and sharing and working together to make goals and have a great time.  He loves it.  Alex continues to be a great soccer player and has so much fun.  He is also all over the field.  I have such wonderful Saturdays watching my boys play.  Kedzie plays with dogs and wanders around in her wheelchair!

Ethan, my gardner and little chef has begun his garden with carrots spelled "Cirits" and "bets" for beats.  He's also got some broccoli and peas.  He is so invested.

One more thing, Alex got his kindergarten shots yesterday and didn't cry! It was amazing.  He is so excited to go to kindergarten that he was eager for the shots and then the nurse had him pretend his was blowing out 100 candles and it made all the difference for him.  Now, we have to get Mr. T's shots in a few weeks and we are ready to go.  Only 12 weeks of summer and five weeks of school left! They can't wait.

Life is good.  We have been truly blessed.  I have to say that I finally figured out a reason or two that Kedzie had to have a broken leg.  First, she's a tough cookie and I needed to be taught that.  Second, we've become better friends with the Krause's, Brody's family. Third, we are not alone here in Colorado without "family." We have made a family here that has been here for us throughout the entire experience and last but not least.  I had been worrying about how Kedzie was going to make friends for next year.  Her best friend and equal in the imagination department is going to a different school next year and they always play together at recess.  I didn't know how things were going to work out for Kedzie.  Have no fear, she breaks her leg and has 27 new best friends willing and able to help her in any way possible at school.  She plays with them, eats with them, gets in trouble with them, has fun with them.  Her class is amazing.  Her teachers are looping and taking most of their current class with them to the 4th grade.  Kedzie is lucky enough to stay with her teachers and with all these new, great friends.  I have no need to fear, Heavenly Father thinks of everything.  I just have to have patience and faith to see the final product.  What a blessing to have this knowledge.

That's the update for now.  Love to all, Emily :)
