We had a fabulous trip to Utah in early June. I think it's the first visit we've had where I felt like I was on vacation there! We were gone for nine days and I got to rest and sleep in and the kids were happy. It was a great trip.
We made it to Lagoon with my mom. Aren't we a cute bunch of old timers? Ethan looks the most authentic. I love it. My mom and Karen's glasses make me laugh. It was a lot of fun. Good 'ol pioneer village. I don't think I'd been to lagoon since Jr. High. That was in the 80's. Yikes. It was Wonderful! We'll be returning there again someday. So fun.
Our primary reason for going to Utah was to see family and boy did we see family! We had our Romer reunion in Idaho at Iva and Neil's this year and it was fabulous. The kids rode horses, played in the barn, played with cousins that they see once and twice a year, and rode 4-wheelers. We ate yummy food and had great conversation with our wonderful extended family. We really had a great time. Thanks to the Owen's for putting on such a great party.
In our time spent in Cache Valley we went to the historic farm and got to collect eggs, ride in old cars, churn butter, clean clothes and ride ponies. We loved our time with the Ravsten's.
Travis and I made it a priority to take our kids around Utah State. I'm not sure you know, but if you are an alum, your kids can get in-state tuition! So, we are really pushing becoming an Aggie! Go Aggies! Anyway, the kids had a great time wandering and finding fun things in the book store. Made my aggie heart proud!
We got to fly while in Utah as well! Sam, Ethan, Kedzie, Emily and Travis all flew for about two minutes. It was great. I know that it's the closest thing I'll ever get to sky diving and everyone loved it. Ethan was done after the first minute. His technique was quit unique...he appeared to be kicking like he was in a pool! We laughed hard. Kedzie was a natural and I don't think Travis nor I stopped smiling the whole time. Thanks Grandma Mary for a great adventure.
We also had a great visit with our sweet Grandma Wood. She nearing her 90's and still weeding, planting and harvesting her own garden. The garden is what my kids will always love about her. It was great to be with her for a few hours. We love you Grandma Wood!
We love our family and we're so grateful for all the wonderful memories.

Love the pics! Especially the old time one and the one right before sky diving. Awesome!
Oh, and isn't it great that when you go to see your family you also see Travis' family all at the same time. This marrying your cousin thing really makes sense!
hahahahahaha
