We did it! We made it up our first 14'er! We can now call ourselves true Coloradans.
Now, in order to be truthful and honest, we didn't exactly hike with our three children to the top of Mt. Evans. Rather, we drove our sweet Odyssey to the top and got out to check out the view! It is the only 14'er in the lower 48 that you can drive to the top, so we took advantage. We had a great day. It was a beautiful drive and once we were near the top, we got out and took a child friendly hike around the area.
We saw quite a few mountain goats. This one was settling in for a nap on the side of the road. Hilarious. We saw glaciers and Ethan even took a dip in the glacial lake! He said he was cold afterwards, I didn't quite understand!
So, while the rest of the metro area suffered in 90 degree heat, we were on top of the world (if you look closely, you can see the downtown buildings) enjoying a beautiful day in Colorado. Glad we live here.

That's awesome! Love the goat!
Hey Em - no need to be modest. I know all five of you hiked Mt. Evans. You just don't want to make the rest of us feel bad...
