I keep thinking about the blessing I've seen over the past month or so and I think I should write them down so others will know and we will remember.
Kedzie keeps getting jobs to watch dogs and kids and teach swim lessons! She's going to have enough money to pay for housing and food this next year! I'm so impressed with her willingness to do these jobs and I'm so grateful to the people who trust her with their precious puppies and children. She's working through therapy to find joy and purpose in her life. Her therapist is incredible. I'm afraid she may not come home for the whole summer next year and its been great having her around to watch her stretch and grow.
Ethan's trip to Tonga was a gift for all of us! First off, he got on the plane! Then, he just happened to be in the same group at Bert and Grant Bair my roommates Jens husband and son. Then, he loved almost everyone in his group and the food and the adventures and he found his passion for construction which will guide him to engineering an construction management. He's depressed he's home! He told us he believes in God just doesn't like going to church. He's open with us and honest and he's grown up so much. What a gift to be a part of.
Triston doesn't talk much to us, but when he does, he's full of laughter and smiles. He went to FSY and we heard from the others that he felt like he belonged there with the people he met. What a gift. He's growing up emotionally and physically and he is still working hard at getting back to his soccer strength before the leg break. It's wonderful to watch him gro.
Alex has had a rough year emotionally and the meds are working! We just happened to find Dr. Erickson who has made all the difference. She's so genuine and kind and reassuring and Alex responds to her every time we meet. He's almost done with 1.5 credits over the summer and I feel is determined to keep working hard in school to pass and make up classes from last semester. He looks and acts so much happier. It makes my heart so happy.
Travis and I continue to have most of the energy we need to parent and take care of each other. He is my best friend and I'm so grateful to grow old with him and enjoy the journey. I'm truly blessed to have him as my forever friend. He's so patient, kind and loving toward me and our children in all our messiness.
I know that God loves me and he loves Travis, Kedzie, Ethan, Triston and Alex. I know that he knows us personally. I know that it's up to us to let him into our lives. I know he is responsible for all the wonderful things I've mentioned above. He's navigating our life long journey and we just have to remember Him and have faith that he knows what we are capable of and we just need to keep striving to be great.
