So, life is busy, we are grateful for the business. It may not look like 2019 busy, but we are doing well. The duck has kept us busy. Soccer, volunteering, friends, work...they've all kept us busy. These pictures are from the end of October to early November. The snow you see helped put out major fires in our area and was fun while it lasted.
We truly enjoy lucky. I sit outside with her for a few hours a day while she explores the grass or takes a bath. She's so chatty and so happy to be with others. Kedzie loves her, we all have loved her. She is happy in her house outside. During the super cold spell we had, she was locked in her roost with a heating pad, made for outside use. She survived! She sneaks in sometimes and goes straight for Wiley's dog food. She also loved exploring our coats! She does poop a lot so we don't keep her in for long.
We had an owl we named Jerry sit on our fence for an entire day. Kedzie named him and our neighbor took the awesome picture above. We kept checking on him all day. It was fun to watch.
There's always a way to play soccer according to Alex!
The school district provides meals for all kids 1-18 each week. This is what the snack portion looks like for four kids! It's a lot of food and great because it reaches so many families. The USDA is paying for it. I think it's amazing how much food is available to people right now for free.
Kedzie trying to get Lucky some flying time!
Triston loves this duck too.
We got to babysit Coach Xavi's one year old boy one day and the kids had a blast in between classes playing with him. Grateful when little kids can join us.
These two and their love/hate relationship
They made it on a walk! Claps for them.
We actually made it through the entire soccer season and the boys did well. These pictures are of Alex's end of season party. Pizza and treats and lots of messing around on a field. They are so funny and quickly remind us that they are 11 year old boys. Love them.
Here are the rankings for the boys teams for the season.
Triston's team won't the gold division!!!
Incredible accomplishment with a new coach and half a new team. Well deserved. Triston's confidence on the field increased as did his size! It was an amazing season for him.
Alex's team landed in third, even though they beat the top two teams. Still awesome. Third in the state!
They have this thing where at times they play to the level of their competition. Two games were like that where they didn't play their best and they lost to two lower level teams. But, they finally beat Real Academy and B-Elite, giving them their only losses of the season. They even tied each other!
Ravi's team...it was a struggle. New coach, new teammates, new/higher level of play. They won their tournament with the help of some other players and then struggles throughout the season. Ravi didn't get too frustrated until the end of the season. It's hard to lose and lose often. He didn't get a red card and only one or two yellows so we are proud of that. They ended up third from the bottom, but they are still learning and growing as a team and as individuals.
Ethan, Triston and Alex and their teammates
This is what some school days look like for my kids! They can be found in various locations from couches to rooms, beds to desks, trampoline to bathroom. You never know what you're gonna get. Go Covid!
I had Ethan join me on a warm Wednesday to pass out food for hope food. He didn't need me. He was so diligent and positive and friendly. I was super proud of him as he passed out 97 bags of food!
Lucky's last day with us before heading to the farm!
We were sad to see her go, but she was getting chattier and needier and it felt time. She wanted nothing to do with the other ducks, but we tried some forced family fun with her mom. They didn't care about each other one bit. Kedzie and I were super sad when we left, we had to get a soda at infuzed and check in on her the next few days. The farm is the perfect place for her! She follows Kristi and Ellie around like she followed us around. She quacked a lot the first night when she was stuck with her mom, but she's been fine ever sense. The farm says she is happy and just follows them around wherever they go. They love her and the kids at camp love her. So glad that it's working out for our Lucky Duck.
I turned 46 on the 9th! Jill and her family had a sweet surprise party for me on one of our family dinner nights! It was special. The kids let me get a picture with them too. Travis spoiled me all day making sure I was happy and I was as I had deliveries of soda, texts, cards, fb posts and calls from people that love me. I think adult birthdays might be better than kid ones. I am loved!
Third day at Red Rocks for Dave Camp. Triston joined Alex's team this time. Always a great work out.
In case you were unaware, Biden is the President Elect. I may not agree with all his policies, but he was the lesser of two evils. I couldn't vote for Trump and I'm thrilled he didn't win. He is a scary man. Anyway, I'm excited about the results and I'm thrilled that we have a black/asian/female as our VP. Go Kamala Harris. What an accomplishment. May some peace come to our nation as we begin again in January. God bless America.
Soccer besties...Alex and Wyatt
These guys were supposed to start playing indoor soccer. They got one day in before Jeff. Co. shut down and sadly, the other team had a forfeit. So, they just played together and had fun! Love these soccer brothers and actual brothers! Cris, Triston, Trindon, Wyatt, Sam, Braylon, Mason and Alex.
We did go visit Lucky on the farm and I had no idea how happy I would be to see how settled in she is. So silly, I know. But we fell in love with her. She was happy to see us and then it was so fun to see her following everyone around and then standing next to a huge horse and the dogs. Nothing phased her. Giggling Life has posts on FB and they welcomed their new, sweet duck who acts like a dog. Look how cute she is with those kids. It was fun to see her.
And then there's this....to end this post on....bless us all!
