camping and stuff

Tommy and Kedzie! Twinners.
And, lucky Kedzie got braces on AGAIN! She wasn't wearing her bottom retainers as she should so Bohman put them back on for free. She's lucky he likes us! Stinker.

I sure do love my calling and love these young women. Camden and Charlotte left for college so we had to snap a shot with them in it for the last time.
Youth evening at Carlson Lake. Their favorite activity of the year!

Colorado...I love you!

Alex wanted to go back to the Sand dunes this summer and lucky for him, there were others in our family that wanted to go as well and there was a camp site available in the middle of the week! The four of us headed down south for a few nights of camping and sand dunes. It was an awesome trip until the last five hours. Last hour two boys decided to fight and be mean and angry and this mama was so fed up that in about five minutes, I packed up the car and we headed back home at 7pm for a four hour drive. Sigh. Parenting is hard. Don't let anyone fool you! It's hard.

We loved our camping spot. The boys could play and be loud and run to the dunes and we had a great fire and yummy food. We talked a lot and just had a great time.

Playing in the citronella candle was a highlight. lol

We bought stuff to change the color of the fire. Sooo cool.

Below, a mule deer in our camp site.

Ethan fell his first ride down and bruised his tail bone. He stopped boarding and sledded after that incident. Poor kid.

Oh man we were hot and dirty! It was fun.

It was too hot during mid day to be on the dunes and everyone was kinda done, so we found the reservoir nearby and threw rocks and let Ethan fish. We also got some ice cream!

Moments before the incident and drive home!
All in all, it was worth every minute. We got to enjoy more of Colorado and enjoy spending time together. We also learned that maybe we should try to get alone when we are stuck in a tent with four people. I love my boys and I love that I can just take them camping and do boy things with them, just like I can do girly things with Kedzie. I'm super blessed to be their mom in both good and bad times.
