April showers bring May flowers

April and May (the whole year, let's be honest) has flown by! I just can't believe how quickly everything goes. Even the kids report that life is fast. Imagine how fast it will be when they are parents. Oh kids, I pray for you every day. I love you and I'm so proud of your choices and the people you are becoming.  You bring me joy and happiness, and stress and frustration. I love you all so much.

We try every six months to watch some conference. It goes okay, mostly they listen to the Prophet speak. Kedzie tends to listen to more talks than the boys. Sister Aburto's talk was so powerful to me. She is an amazing women and example of tenacity and strength. Grateful for her words. Also, Presidency Nelson ended home and visiting teaching and other leaders introduced the new ministering program of the church. He also announced more Temples and just appears to be healthy and strong and in tune with our Heavenly Father.  I'm grateful for his example.

Easter continues with it's tradition of egg coloring. Hopefully that will last for years to come!

We had the opportunity to go pull weeds at the Temple. It went as expected. Lots of moaning and groaning and happy to leave at the end, but we pulled weeds for two hours and felt great about our services there.

Yes, we ate every last morsel of our Swedish chocolate bunny and it was worth all the calories!

Tom got to come home for a "home visit" to make sure things were set up for him at home. It was a happy moment for all.  Love these Bjorkman's. I keep teasing Tom that I fell in love with him while he was sleeping and I just don't understand why he doesn't love me too!?!? He just laughs uncomfortably! It's great.

And then a week or two later, he came home for good. He has a ramp he gets into the house on and he can move himself around the house in his wheelchair. He will only get stronger from here. Such a miraculous story.

Ethan was the captain of his battle of the books team. They didn't win, but they worked hard and read almost all ten books. I was proud of him for working hard and stretching himself.

Love my Colorado roommates. Still amazing women.
Jen, Leah, Pauline, Emily and Carol

I was a chaperone for the zoo field trip for 3rd grade. Super fun day with Triston and his friends. We rarely ran into Alex, but that was okay. It was a beautiful day.

Kedzie and Lucy heading to the spring dance at school. They didn't plan to be in similar floral print. Great minds think alike!

Grandma Wood turned 96 and everyone had a party for her at her new assisted living center. Boy to we love her and her tenacity and drive for life. She's amazing. We weren't able to get to the party, but we got this great photo of Kathy and Reggie with her and Doug doing bunny ears!

And of course, it's spring soccer time! Triston loves to spend some time in goal. Makes me nervous! But he has plenty of time on the field too. He continues to play for Team Colombia and Alex continues to play with Team Germany both through Storm. Triston will try out for a competitive team in the fall.  They both continue to grow in the sport and love it. I love watching them play. (Ethan's playing too but sometimes I forget to take pictures when its a repeated event!)

Wiley continues to be the favorite member of our family! Spoiled puppy. Here's the last picture we have with his beloved snowman toy.  We kept sewing and stitching it back together after he'd destroy it over and over, but it became too damaged to fix. He loved his toy from Grandma!

School this year has been great. Matthew and Triston continue to be together in the same class, but the boys all share the same teachers and I love them. Mrs. Nunnally and Mr. Mitchell have made a difficult year with students into a positive experience. Grateful for their commitment.

We continue to do cub scouts, for the time being. It's been announced that the church will part ways from the scouts in 2020 and I couldn't be more excited! Can't wait to see the program that being developed. And my boys aren't as into scouts as the program desires. So, it's a good thing for us. Ethan earned his Webelos and has moved onto 11yo scouts, but that won't last long due to his lack of desire. Alex and Triston keep progressing through the cub scouts.  They have fun with their friends.

Sleeping, growing boys!

Food For Hope dinner with good friends. We bought a table of eight and had an enjoyable evening celebrating what Food for Hope does for kids in our community.  Feeding over 400 kids in poverty, over the weekend. I love being involved in this program. Jill, Anne, Stephani, Marlena, Angela, Betsy, Tami and myself.

School carnival chaos! Dane, Cooper and Ethan, and colorful Matthew and Alex, Triston and Ethan

Triston sang in our stake children's choir. So proud of him! Blue shirt to the left.

I had the privilege to witness the sealing of Lindsey and Miles on May 3rd. I flew out early in the morning and back in the afternoon. It was a special day for them. So proud of their choices and excited for their future. I loved being on Temple Square in the spring time. The flowers and peace made me so happy. It was a lovely day. I'm truly blessed.
