SOS Week 1: We wrote letters to military service people serving on a ship in the pacific. We also wrote letters to members of the church in Brussels and Paris.
SOS Week 2: We gathered jeans and cut them for Sole Hope. Sole Hope makes shoes for kids in Africa that get chiggers in their feet.
SOS Week 3: We went to the grocery store and asked shoppers to donate goods to Food for Hope.
SOS Week 4: We delivered all the food we gathered from the week before and sorted the donations at Food for Hope.
SOS Week 6: The kids held a baked goods and lemonade stand to raise money for Project Worthmore as they help refugees in Denver. The kids raised almost $150
SOS Week 7: We baked cupcakes and decorated them in addition to making cards which we then delivered to the Northglenn Police Department. They were so grateful we thought of them.
I think I can confidently say that we had another successful Summer of Service. My kids look forward to it every summer. There are some amazing moms that join me each year and we have a lot of fun trying to teach our kids to look beyond themselves and serve others.
