We had a fabulous trip to Utah.
In fact, there was no crying on my end and I wished we had planned to stay longer.
That is awesome, isn't it?! I think so.
We had a great day with Karen and the Roberts family at Lagoon. That was tough at first, because it was my mom's day, but I know she was there riding rides with us or laughing with us or encouraging Ethan and Alex to get soaked in the water fountains! We of course ate dinner at Costa Vida (yum) and then drove by my mom's house. That was the toughest part for me. Seeing my mom's house with her English looking post box and beautiful flowers with a dog and a trailer and new trees. What?!?!? That's my mom's house not yours dude! Wait, reality check, she's gone and we sold her house.
But, I didn't cry!
Does this count as a first date? Ryker and Kedzie hung out a lot!
We had to stop at Karen's house and see her beautiful flowers and garden and her new living room, oh and her son Sam!
We headed to Clarkston where we had a fabulous few days with Grandma and Grandpa and Reggie. We rode a horse, collected chicken eggs, chased kittens, saw pigs and ducks, played with friends, visited Willow Park, went to the Temple, drove around USU, went on a bike ride and went fishing. The fishing at the Lake was the highlight for the kids! Ethan caught three small fish and Kedzie got one! Alex was fishing with a net with no success. I wonder why?!
Saturday was our Romer family party. It was fabulous. Merle worked so hard to have a perfect party. The kids were so happy to be with cousins. I was so happy to see cousins and aunties. It was a great day. It was fun to see my mom peek in on the party through her sisters, in my mind. Their speech and actions would sound and act like my mom on occasion and it was fun to be able to hear her in a sense, again. I sure miss her. And, I love my family very much.
PS...I'm in charge of the party next year, wish me luck!
Prior to the party, we went to my mom's grave site! I set myself up for the trip there to be a good one and it was! We bought a diet coke and left it there and bought some chocolate and ate it there! Alex sat on the grave stone a lot. He didn't even get out of the van during the burial. Huge progress. Then, remember that Alex is potty training?! Well, he had to go pee, so I told him to just pee on the grass above Grandma! I knew she would just laugh and encourage such behavior. So, he peed and then of course Ethan had to as well! It was awesome and made us all laugh. I knew she loved it! Karen brought some beautiful roses and we had a nice time just hanging out there for a bit. It was good for us. all.

We went to visit Grandma Wood on our way back to Colorado. We spent the night. She is 91 and still takes care of her yard and garden. She is amazing. We enjoyed our time with her. And, then we headed home! It was a long day, but we made it. We stopped at Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction for a while and enjoyed the beauty there.
We came home to a beautiful, clean home (Thanks to Lisa T) and cats that were happy to see us and jumped right into the grind of summer. Horses, drama class, chores, bowling, you know....all the good stuff!
Thanks to all for a great trip to Utah. Next year, we are staying a little longer!
