A proud mom moment!

We have had parent teacher conferences for Kedzie and Ethan this week.  They went great!  I'm so grateful.  As I strive every day to be the best mom I can be, sometimes feeling that I fall short, I was grateful for the bonus I received at conferences.

Some days I feel like such a nag, a bore, a hound, (all animals, interesting!) rather than a tender, loving, wise mom.  I'm learning that sometimes I have to be a nag, etc. in order to educate my children how it is to be a part of society.
(I hope all of this is making sense.  My mind is a little jumbled!)

Anyway, Kedzie's first grade teacher has had to increase her reading level due to all of the hard work Kedzie has put into reading for the last four months!  She is average to above average in all areas that were tested.  She is kind and caring to those around her. She was even picked by a peer to have lunch with the teacher this past week!  She gets perfect scores on her spelling tests and comes home happy from school each day.

Ethan's report from his pre-school class was music to my ears and calming to my soul!  If you aren't aware, sometimes Ethan and I have occasional verbal conflicts. These result in Ethan crying and screaming and me feeling sick to my stomach and angry.  It's always my hope that none of these behaviors carry over into the real world, and guess what?!
They don't!

Ms. Sharon today said that she would love 20 other Ethan's in her class room.  She said that he is a leader, he plays with anyone, he can go from one activity to another without problems, he is friendly, kind and happy.  She said that he knows all his letter sounds and the next step is reading! He's four friends...four!  This program has been so wonderful for him.  And as a side note, she said that if I come back in two years, that they will help me figure out how to get Alex in their program for his pre-K year!  Wahoo!  Anyway, Ethan is a leader and a roll model and is not cocky about it!  I was glowing from these remarks about him.  I know that he is an amazing individual.  I'm grateful that other people know it as well!

Great job Kedzie and Ethan on working hard and enjoying school.  Great job on being kind to those around you and for loving to learn and for being a good example to others.  I love you and I'm so grateful that you chose to come to Earth so that I can be your mother!  I'm so proud of you both.

Alex, I'm proud of you too!  He knew that my kids were getting pizza at their primary party today, so once we left them, he said he wanted pizza for lunch and wouldn't take any other offers.  So, we had our date to a local pizza joint.  It was fun.  His speech is growing daily and he loves going on bike rides as often as possible, with me pushing him on his tricycle!  He is my buddy.  I'm grateful he's the baby of the family!

Travis...I love you too!

You are a great mom - I have no doubt your kids will continue to grow up to be kind and loving children. They have excellent examples from their parents!
