We are all so excited that the new school year has begun, although it makes life go a little faster than I expected! But, we have a first grader and she loves it. She loves being gone all day. She loves having recess. She loves taking her lunch. She loves learning. She loves her teacher, Mrs. Arambula. She loves her new friends. She is thrilled with being a first grader.
The boys were excited to take her to first grade! It has been an adjustment for them to not have their big sister around to plan their daily activities. Rather than do what they are told, they have to come up with their own activities...which include a little wrestling, sword fighting, ninja, clone wars action. It's a little bit crazy, but we are working through it.
Ethan started his last year of pre-school at Tarver Elementary a few days after Kedzie. You might be thinking he looks like he just woke up and we didn't comb his hair, well, you are right! This is my son! We both have a hard time getting up in the morning. But, he is thrilled to be the big man on campus and back with his wonderful teachers. He's gone four days a week, which is another adjustment for Alex! It means it's also an adjustment for me, as I become his play mate! It's been a while since I've had to be someones play mate!
Anyway, here's to a wonderful school year! Homework starts tomorrow, extra curricular activities are in motion and my kids are learning and growing at astounding rates. It's wonderful to be heir mother. I'm grateful that I get to watch them learn and grow! Go get 'em Kedzie and Ethan! Love you.
