The end of August has been intense. Lots going on from starting school, to moving Kedzie to soccer, to golf and everything in between. Here's a synopsis!
Kedzie clocked out of her last shift at chick-fil-a on 8/18. Bitter/sweet for her. It's time to move on, but hard to move on from a great job and great bosses and friends. But, she's ready. She's worked there since she turned 16! What a fabulous job it was.
The boys made Varisty! Only 5 sophomores I think and the rest are Jrs and Srs. So proud of them. Here they are in their first scrimmage, together. I need better photos, but you get it! Proud mom of hard working soccer athletes. HS soccer is a different ball game than club, so that's a learning curve, but they're figuring it out. Due to Alex's grades from last semester, he's out the first six games of the season, which leaves him with the last nine games. He's still training and committed to the team. It's great to see them playing together.
The Foran's took the "seniors" boating for a day! Ravi had a wonderful time of course. Sun, water and his besties. Nothing could be better.
We met up with the Tonga crew at the Bair's house one Sunday evening for dinner. It is so amazing that these five live within 1.5 hours of each other and they were so happy to be back together.
Our sweet puppies!
Ethan at the golf course, his home away from home these days.
These two! Mason and Ravi feeling the spirit of Team USA! Or, they wanted to wear them to the HS football USA night!
Where's Ravi?! Clearly, they stood out and had a lot of fun at the game.
We took a quick weekend to take Kedzie to USU. Phoebe was ready for the adventure!
Alex, Ethan and Triston did most of the driving. Stressed out Travis, but they did great.
We drove two cars, and Phoebe always loves sticking her head out the window! lol
We love Logan Canyon
Triston trying to hide from me. Neva!
She's in Oakridge. My stomping ground from 1997. They have updated and are lovely apartments. We got her moved in and then left her to unpack Friday night.
Ethan and I had fun with the dogs in the fields.
Alex enjoyed some bubble time
He actually built that for Kedzie!
Forced tour to the student government offices where they had to see a picture of me on the wall from being Social Science Senator in 1997. They didn't like the curly hair?!
Friday night, Ethan hung out with Tonga friend Hayven. They went to hit golf balls and eat yummy food. He's lucky to have great friends in the area.
We had to get Aggie Ice Cream.
She was all moved in by Saturday afternoon with everyone's help! She's home for as long as she wants to be there! Proud of her and her desire to learn and grow.
Alex playing at Grandma's
Ethan and Parker at a party in Logan. Parker was his leader in Tonga and has a band and Ethan got to hear him play. So awesome.
Family forever! Phoebe with her dad and her brother!
We love Grandma and Reggie. Grateful they'll let us hang out with them for a few days.
A farewell hug
Logan canyon again
Bear Lake was beautiful
Cara, Emi and Kedzie. Second cousins! All living in Oakridge and Emi and Kedzie are in the same apartment. Excited to see their relationships grow and see what adventures lay ahead.
Alex gets to sleep a lot while doing school online. Here's proof.
Ethan's first car accident. A girl pulled out from a stop sign and hit him on their way to school. She's at the same school and a teacher was there to support them as he saw it all happen. No injuries and Travis is now driving a rental Kia Soul! He hates it. I have the toyota and Ethan has my car. The CRV hasn't been totalled yet, but we imagine it will be. It got more damage during towing from the lot to the mechanics! We shall see in due time. Just grateful no one was injured and Ethan didn't get a ticket!
The other car.
NFL draft day! "Dress like a coach!"
She's official! She'll be in a second grade class room for half a day, once a week this semester. Can't wait to hear about it.
Kedzie went to Grandma's her first weekend back. She learned to can peaches and got to snuggle puppies. Grateful grandma is so close by.
Ethan in his work boots for construction class
He's pretty handsome.
The Colorado Tongan crew and Scottie, who flew in from AZ, spent a whirlwind 24 hours together. Camping, eating, watching the AF game and driving all over the front range.
I had breakfast with these DHS friends. We've known each other for over 22 years. Great to see them on occassion.
Kedzie spending time with her friends from last year and going to the Temple.
The boys continue to ref and are making some good money! Now if they'd only learn to save it instead of spending it on video games and food! lol
Thornton's ran into Kedzie at the USU football game. So fun. I was just happy she went!
September is next and that means a lot of soccer and busy kids. We continue to be so blessed in all that we do. I'm grateful for my family.
