It's August 2021 baby

The days continue to be long and the years are short, but life is pretty good for the Ravsten's. I'm truly grateful. Minus a few aches and pains from soccer and our bodies, there isn't a lot of bad going on. We laugh regularly, we rarely eat dinner together (eek) and Travis and I get to spend time together and with our kids individually regularly.  They seem to like each other until they don't! Everyone has made some major emotional changes in the past six months and physically everyone but Alex has changed in the last year! Puberty has been good for my kids. Triston is so happy and so confident right now. He is funny and sassy and snuggles regularly with Travis. They are definitely close.  Ethan has changed so much physically including the length of his hair, but he is polite and still hugs us every night before bed. He's working and he is so committed to high school soccer without complaining. It's awesome. Kenya and age changed Kedzie. She's so fun to talk to and watch as she learns and grows. She loves her job and enjoys school and life as a whole. Although, her bones don't like her and she will need knee surgery sometime this year. Alex hasn't hit a major growth spurt yet, but I can't wait to see what great things happen for him. School still isn't his favorite and we went back on his meds, but he is getting great grades, has good friends and plays so hard at soccer. My kids are pretty great, unless they're yelling. Oh and then there are the dogs. Everyone loves them except when they poop in the house for some reason. They love each other too, in a weird way, but they do!

Buddies Matthew, Alex, Brennar and Triston

Kathy and her sister Kris and Reggie came to visit. It was a great weekend. They got to see both Alex and Triston play soccer and then talk and talk and talk. Travis thoroughly enjoyed hearing stories he's never heard before from his mom and Kris. It was a special weekend for sure. And Kedzie is loving face painting and Reggie was a great model. She also shared her trip with grandma and loved every moment of remembering Kenya.

The day I coached soccer for Triston's team will forever be a memory. I am NOT a coach but I wasn't about to let practice be cancelled on the first official night. So, the boys came, I put Isaac and Triston in charge and they did warm ups, drills, shooting and then played a game. Afterwards, I fed them pizza! These are some really fun boys.

Triston is a swinger right now, I guess. He practices and plays for Select II and Burgundy. At one point, he was moving teams, but we are still waiting a month later. At this point, it doesn't matter. He is happy and not burned out. He is getting almost three hours of training each night, by choice mostly. He is so happy and has so many great friends from both teams. He's also worked so hard to get here, it's pretty amazing.

Alex's team taking a break between games at the friendlies.

We had to have ice cream as it was such a hot day and playing two games in a row

So tired after three 11v11 games in one day

Alex's team played in the Players Cup and took 2nd place. They lost to B-Elite after beating them the day before. They are trying to get their rhythm as the field and 11v11 are new. Also, no one is really able to score, so that isn't good. I guess its good we had these tournaments before the season starts.

Could they be any sillier? Alex and Josiah

Triston played in the Players Cup with Select II and he started and finished each game. It was incredible. He deserves to be on this team, if the office would just make it official. Anyway, he was a rock star out there. Reggie was so funny as he was cheering his team on the entire game and got closer and closer to the coach as the game went on! Go Coach Reggie.

Alex got new pants and new shoes and had no idea they'd match! We had him change his shirt. Promise

Still small enough to fit in the dog crate, but not for much longer, those long legs!

Travis's first and last day at Water World! We had a good time, but the lines were awful and of course it's not Disney so we are snooty! But, we were glad to spend the day together and with the Bradford's.
