General Conference April 2020...one for the books

General Conference
April 2020
At Home Edition

No audience, no spouses, no tabernacle choir.  No hand shaking, no waving, no hugging.
Lots of talks on the restoration and Joseph Smith as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first vision and the return of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth.

Probably the first time I've watched every session since college and Coseth and Kedzie joined Travis and I in all sessions. The boys even watched more than most. We were inspired, and blessed.

We participated in the unique Hosanna Shout and the Prophet prayed for the world and proposed another fast for the next week. It was a blessing to be able to listen to the prophet and other church leaders during this unique time in our lives. I'm grateful for my membership in the church and my relationship with the Holy Ghost, my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.

In between conference sessions we took a drive to see buffalo at the arsenal. It was something nice and different to do. To get out in the world and get some fresh air from our car!

Conference

The Lord loves effort. Effort brings rewards. Pres. Nelson

Strive to follow the Lord

Plead with with the Lord for help to thwart the adversary

The Lord expects us to receive revelation from Him. Listen & act

We must learn to progress

He knew that she knew that He knew she had been blessed.

Embrace your sacred memories. Let them bring patience to your doubts and understanding to your difficulties.

We need to have our own individual, spiritual experiences.

The church is going to change the world in miraculous ways.

Seeing others as God does is a gift. I invite all of us to seek for this gift. As our eyes are opened to see, we will also be able to help others see themselves as God does.

Pray in Faith.
Pray for God to guide and direct us.
Always remember Jesus Christ
What would He have me do?

There may be times the only one we can trust is Jesus Christ. How great is it that we have Him?!

Stay on your covenant path. Invite your children and loved ones to come to you.

“Choose to do hard things well” Eyring

Seek to understand the truth’s of eternity with an eye single to receive and we will receive...Oaks

Fast and prayer on April 10th.
“I invite all, including those not of our faith, to fast and pray on Good Friday, April 10, that the present pandemic may be controlled, caregivers be protected, the economy strengthened, and life normalized.”

“This is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He stands at its head and directs all that we do. I know that He will respond to the pleadings of His people.”

What we desire in righteousness can someday be fulfilled

Seek to hear His son. Listen to obey. #hearhim. It’s Gods pattern for success, happiness and joy in this life.

“As disciples of Jesus Christ, our efforts to hear Him need to be ever more intentional. It takes conscious and consistent effort to fill our daily lives with His words, His teachings, His truths.” Pres. Nelson

the apostolic blessing President Nelson bestowed on the Church.
“Dear brothers and sisters, I express my love for you. During this time of tension and uncertainty, and invoking the authority vested in me, I would like to confer upon you an apostolic blessing.
I bless you with peace and increasing faith in the Lord.
I bless you with a desire to repent and become a little more like Him each day.
I bless you to know that the Prophet Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness.
Should there be illness among you or your loved ones, I leave a blessing of healing, consistent with the will of the Lord.
I so bless you, adding once more my expression of love for each of you, in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.”
