Additional December happenings

Oh December...you were a busy month! I'm grateful for all the fun and the memories.  Here are some that were photo worthy! Hope you enjoy.

Ethan visited the Denney's where he got to try on a real NFL Dolphins helmet and a crazy looking BYU helmet! He loves football and we are all so excited that the Broncos and Peyton Manning are in the playoffs again this year.  Go Broncos!

I have some of the greatest friends in the world.  Two of whom are Betsy and Jill or as I lovingly like to call them, Bill and Jetsy.  My life is fuller because they are a part of it.  I'm truly grateful for them.

It was time to replace the piano I purchased while single, for $400. It was sounding bad and the fact that I now have three piano players in the house, it was time to send Travis on one of the greatest adventures of his life.  He spent six hours at two different piano stores playing many, many pianos and we were lucky enough to find this 10 year old, perfectly conditioned Yamaha.  It looks beautiful in our front room and sounds beautiful.  What a fun addition. We were sad to say goodbye to the old piano, but it was simply moved to the Krause's across the street!

Kedzie knows what I love and made me this beautiful painting. Go Aggies!

Ethan, Kedzie, the Nunnally's and I had the great opportunity to go see SYTYCD live in Denver. We had a great time watching some of our favorite dancers and dances perform.  It was a fun, late night!

Best Santa Ever! Told my kids to love each other.  Couldn't have asked for more.

My handsome boy wants to wear a suit to church. Good thing Ethan had one that didn't fit him anymore.

We've had some great snow storms which mean the boys have played a great deal out in the snow with friends.  Loving every minute.

Grandma Kathy continues to send us twelve days before Christmas presents. She never disappoints.  And here are the gingerbread houses from this year!

Off to the last day of Christmas before break.  Love these crazy boys.

I was in charge of Triston's holiday party at school.  We had a lot of fun.  Grateful I can volunteer in my kids classrooms.  Kedzie's party was at Skate City and Ethan went to a mystery theater field trip and had a party that day.  Alex also had a party.  So much fun for all!

Sleeping at the hotel during our Copper Mountain Scooter weekends was a lot of fun.

Thanks Erin for sharing a diet coke with me!

#kaileestrong
Our sweet friend Kailee was found in the hospital with seizures and an unknown illness that has kept her in ICU for the past few weeks.  She has yet to wake up, but has come out of an induced coma and has decreased her seizures.  We pray for Kailee daily and know that Heavenly Father performs miracles through our earthly challenges.  Our hearts go out to Natalee and Bryan who are faithful and committed to bringing their baby home.  It has been a fail building experience for many and just reminds me that Heavenly Father always has a plan.

Christmas cookie decorating with the Nunnally's and Dorsett's was fun this year. A new tradition for us. We also had dinner and cookie decorating with the Holland's on another evening.  We have great friends.  Have I mentioned that?!

My favorite children! Just kidding.  The only two that had any desire to go see the Nutcracker this year, so we went to dinner and had a great night out.  I'm grateful that Grandma Mary's tradition can live on and so happy to see that these two love the Nutcracker ballet.

Our much anticipated viewing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens came the Saturday after christmas.  Santa was thoughtful and brought me tickets to take all members of my family.  We went with Matthew and Perry and loved every single second of the movie.  Can't wait for the next installment!

Ethan sent me this adorable picture from his new iPad.

Erin and I took our kids to the church over break at the same time Bishop Conover brought his boys to play basketball.  What a great man to have everyone play together.  It was so much fun to watch.

New Years Eve, four years since my mom's passing.  I think the night before was the hardest this year as I remember her going to sleep and never waking again and saying I love you to a full room of family members.  But, I have so many wonderful friends who don't forget her and we always drink a diet coke in honor of her.  We spent the day taking down Christmas, so it was pretty uneventful, but it was a good, peaceful day.  I know that my mom is doing wonderful things, in the afterlife.

I posted the following on Facebook in honor of my mom.  Today I remember the best mom in the entire universe! It's true. A single parent who went on to get her PhD and to change her world. The mom to taught me how to be a mom. The mom who loved her grandchildren with every ounce of her being. The mom who showed me the world and was there to listen at any moment. Four years ago, she went to her Heavenly Father. I wish I knew why she was taken so soon, but I know with my whole being that she is doing amazing things. She is running and singing and dancing, she is guiding, protecting and loving us here on Earth. I love and miss you every day mom. The kids are so excited to have a diet coke in your honor today!
The sweet Holland's, they're the best.

New Years Eve was fun, as we spent the evening with the Nunnally's and Dorsett's.  Denney played football with the boys almost the whole night while we watched football, played games and talked.  It was lovely.  We had dinner at Red Robin, rang in the new year at 8:15 with drinks and poppers and again with the 10pm news as they showed the ball drop in NYC.  It was a great night. Bring on 2016.

I also couldn't leave the year without a shout out to the Clappers.  Pauline, Connie, Leah, Carol, Tarra, Tosha, Eldon, Jen, Travis and I.  WE had a lovely evening together over the break.  Grateful for the approximate 18 years of memories.

Happy 2016.  2015 was great, I'm eager to make this year memorable too.
