Kedzie and Ethan had their first ski school experience this month at Copper and it was awesome. It was the first time that Travis and I hit the mountain in over four years as well. We both loved it. Although, we would have enjoyed it more had we skied together, but we took turns having fun with Alex in the Lodge, and honestly, that was fun too. There is time to ski together in the near future!
Trying out their borrowed goggles with their bike helmets!
All geared up and ready to go!
Ethan darted down the hill when the teachers weren't watching! He would go as fast as he could and crash at the bottom.
They were lucky enough to be in the same class the first day because their ages just worked out. They had fun and supported each other throughout the whole day!
Kedzie would head down the hill very meticulously. Watching every turn along the way!
We made it back to our hotel without incident on the slopes! Only to have Alex cut open his chin in the bath tub. Those darn tubs are slippery, just an FYI! Fortunately, no stitches, but we did visit the Summit County Emergency Room. It's nice! They just glued him back together and named him their best patient of the day. He didn't shed a tear. What a guy.
Personally, I'm looking forward to many wonderful, memorable family ski trips in future years. It is one sport that Travis and I are actually good at and we both enjoy. So, we are going to have to get an extra job or save our tax refund each year to do it, but we are going to be a skiing family. It's exciting. We had a great weekend. I love my family and I love skiing and I love that we got to do it together. I look forward to many future winters and many wonderful family stories as we continue to grow together. Here's to my family and to the mountains! Gotta love 'em both!

No surprise there! You always were an awesome skier! The only time I can remember having actually fun skiing (not freezing and wishing I was in the lodge) was when you and I went together!
Em, WOW! I am shocked to say the least about all you and your sweet family have been through the past month.
First, I hope you are feeling better and am sorry to hear about your health troubles.
Secondly, I am sad to hear your mom's cancer has come back. Let her know she is in our prayers and tell her she will just have to beat this thing again. She is an amazing women and if anyone can do it, it is her.
Thirdly, I love that you took your kids skiing. What great parents you are. Most importantly they look like they are having a great time, so that makes it all worth it, right? Even the trip to the ER! :)
Lastly, I wish I could give you a big hug and tell you I love you!!
As you know I am the "lets ski" booster!! What a great family outing. Your kids will thank you for these wonderful experiences. XOXO
