Update #4 (I think this is the last update for now) Grandma Mary

So, my mom was diagnosed with "Aggressive Endometrial Cancer" on the 14th of December.  It's taken us a little by surprise.  My gut feels it, but my heart and mind are clueless to it all.  After Heather's death, I'm pretty sick of cancer.  Our hope is that the cancer is contained in her uterus and after a hysterectomy the cancer will be gone and she will be finished with treatment.  The other spectrum is that the cancer will have mastatised and she will have to endure chemo and radiation.

Tomorrow, Monday the 21st, she has two crucial appointments.  One with her stomach doctor and one with her oncologist.  Her stomach doc appointment is due to the fact that she has only been able to eat 2-3 TBSP of food at a time before she gets sick for the last month.  Is this related to the cancer? We don't know.  Tomorrow will be a good day, filled with answers (we hope).

So, we know that a hysterectomy is the smallest adventure she'll be encountering in the near future.  Who knows what's next?  But, we're ready to face the challenge, I think!

Gratefully, her spirits are high and she has a strong testimony of our Savior and our Heavenly Father's plan. I do too.  We know that there will be sadness, but there will be peace as well as we all experience this journey.

I've set up a CaringBridge page for her.    http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/grandmamary
It's a great place to read up on her care and send her notes of encouragement if so desired.

To lift all of our spirits, Kedzie had her H1N1 booster last week and let Grandma Mary know that because she had the booster, she will not get the "cancer bug."  In addition, I've let my mom know that we will be opening an account on eBay to begin selling all of her dolls the moment she is gone!  Also, there will be no "in lieu of flowers" at her funeral!  Bring them flowers on baby!  Show the love.

Grateful for my mom, grateful for humor, grateful for Travis and my children, grateful for supportive friends and family and I'm grateful for modern medicine.  Now, let's go take care of this cancer!  Go mom Go!  I love you.
